Arusha, January 26, 2012 (FH) - The defence team of genocide-accused Pastor Jean Uwinkindi on Wednesday requested the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) to review and reconsider its decision confirming the transfer of the accused to Rwanda.

25.01.12 - RWANDA/CANADA - MUGESERA TO FACE A JUDGE IN SEVEN DAYS TIME
Arusha, January 25 2012 (FH) - Rwandan scholar Leon Mugesera will appear before the High Court in Rwanda within seven days of his arrival in Kigali, where readiness by both parties to commence substantive trial will be assessed, according to a statement issued by the Office of the Prosecutor General Martin Ngoga on Tuesday.

Nairobi, January 26, 2012 (FH) - Kenya's Uhuru Kenyatta has resigned as Finance Minister following his indictment by the International Criminal Court, but stays on as Deputy Prime Minister, according to a statement today from the President's office. Head of the civil service and secretary to the cabinet Francis Muthaura has also resigned his position, it said.
